Marcus studied architecture at the National University of Singapore and Czech Technical University in Prague, graduating with a Master of Architecture. He is a registered Architect with the Board of Architects (BOA) in Singapore.

Having worked under the mentorship of industry professionals such as RichardHO Architects, Teh Joo Heng Architects and DP Architects, Marcus has acquired experience in residential (landed and high-rise), commercial, hotel and religious buildings. He has also worked in the Conservation department in Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and has honed his knowledge and skills in the handling and treatment of conserved buildings.

The exposure that Marcus has gleaned over the years enables him to craft more meaningful and purposeful works/spaces customised to the respective users.

The term MARU is derived from the Japanese character "丸" which signifies completeness, wholeness and truth. This essence is distilled in our works where we strive to achieve simplicity and clarity as a state of being.

Every design focuses on creating purposeful, meaningful and tranquil spaces that is crafted to the specific needs and enhances the spatial experience of our clients. Every detail is meticulously refined to complement the broader design intent.

At MARU, we also adopt a contemporary take on vernacular tropical architecture that respects the site and synchronises harmoniously with the environment.
